I take pride in taking care of residents' daily requirements whilst also managing the care team. Barbara has lived at Marriott House since 2019 and was voted in by fellow residents to take on the role of Resident Ambassador. I have completed various training courses through Barchester Healthcare, including my NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality. I have been a registered nurse for 10 years and have varied experiences from geriatrics, renal and other fields of nursing. I worked as a Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer in a hospital in the Philippines prior to coming here in England. My passion for learning is high and to this date I am completing my thesis for my masters degree in Nursing. At Barchester, we’re cultivating an environment where you’ll have more than just a career – you’ll have a family. And that is not only our opinion, we spoke with families of other residents. We were invited to take some Alpacas to Marriott House to interact with the residents.
Through completing care qualifications, I progressed to Senior Care Assistant and, more recently, I have also adopted the responsibilities of a Care Practitioner as well. I have also been involved in activities within the home and have lead the Activities Team for many years. I have completed many training courses through the Barchester Healthcare Training Academy, which have further enhanced my skills in a range of areas, including, care, activities and providing training. I now share my time between being a Care Practitioner and the home administrator. I live locally and I enjoy my days off spending quality time with my 9-month-old son and my husband.
